The project consists of design and rebuild (including resurfacing, bridge rehabilitation, and safety improvements) along the Route 8 corridor in the state of Connecticut. Project limits are from Exit 13 in Shelton to Exit 22 in Seymour. Widening and safety improvements to 2.7 miles of Interstate 84 from Washington Street to Pierpont Road. Project is mostly concerned with the realignment of the highway's "S" curve. The installation and removal of 57 bridge plates, construction and replacement of 8 bridges, 4 of them over waterways, and the installation of 20 retaining walls was performed. Additionally, 2 rivers were relocated and 7 culverts were installed.
Cost: $262 Million Project
Construction of a two-lane busway between Hartford and New Britain with the installation of bus stations and bridges, relocation of Amtrak railroad tracks, and excavation of over 30,000 cubic yards of earth and rock.
Total Cost Between All Three Contracts: $65 Million Project
Milling and paving of approximately one mile of taxiways along with the installation of new edge lights and guidance signs.
Cost: $3 Million Project
Removal and replacement of existing Amtrak railroad bridge with a 100 foot long structure to accommodate two tracks and to increase roadway width from two to four lanes. Also, there was a complete reconstruction of 1500 feet of 4 lane roadway with new drainage, traffic signals, and concrete sidewalks to be installed.
Cost: $10 Million Project
Built new 114 ton single span 2 lane steel girder bridge with reinforced concrete and asphalt deck. Rehabilitation of bridge over Wooster Heights Road was also performed, along with new road construction.
Cost: $45 Million Project
Excavated and stockpiled 5,000 cubic yards of contaminated soil to be tested, classified, and disposed of accordingly. New drainage system and electrical conduit were installed along with the construction of a new 500 x 1000 foot safety area. The full road construction of Dodge Avenue was done as well.
Cost: $9.3 Million Project
Complete shoulder widening and reconstruction of the median barrier lane. Shoulder widening includes widening of a small bridge with the addition of precast piles, drilling and grouting of rebar, and addition of wing walls. Installation of new retaining walls, overhead signs, and a full milling, paving, and line striping was done.
